Abstract
296,353. Conrady, P. Aug. 29, 1927, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Refrigerating, compression machines for; refrigerators, domestic and like.-The condenser coils of a machine fitted to a domestic refrigerator are metallically connected with outer metal walls spaced from the walls of the cabinet, so that the cooling is effected by natural flow of cooling-air over the coil and by radiation from the outer walls. The evaporator coils are embedded in the wall insulation and metallically connected with the inside lining. The gas is delivered from the compression unit f, Figs. 1, 4, through a pipe g and manifolds h to inverted U-shaped condenser pipes i, Fig. 6, attached to the outer metal plates. Condensate collects in manifolds k and is fed to distributor pipes d connected with the evaporator pipes a. Apertures m, n are provided in the outer metal plates to enable cooling-air to flow upwards inside them, and the plates are preferably painted on the outside with a thick layer of white enamel. 'The evaporator pipes a lead into a receiver b at the top, from which liquid refrigerant flows back to the pipes d while the gas is led through a pipe e to the compressor suction. In the case of low pressure refrigerants such as methylene chloride and ethyl chloride the condenser may be formed of sheet metal channels as shown in section in Fig. 8.
