Couplings and connectors.-In order to connect branch conductors of various diameters to overhead conductors of various diameters, a clamp formed of two parts is provided, the main part comprising jaws b pressed against the main conductor a by screws c. The branch clamp comprises jaws g pressed against the branch conductor i by screws k, the jaws g being formed with loops k which for all sizes of the clamps are spaced a constant distance apart so that the loops k of any branch clamp may be connected with perforated lugs d on the jaws b of any main clamp, by a screw-bolt n and nut o. To retain the branch conductor at any angle to the main cable, a disc p with a projecting pin may be clamped under the screw-bolt n, Fig. 9, the pin penetrating the clamping jaw of the branch clamp and - entering one of a series of holes in the jaw of the main clamp. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the main clamp may be employed to-support the cable by securing it to a flexible connection r, Fig. 12 (cane.), of the suspension insulator s. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
