Abstract

291,948. Mond, A. L., (Metallbank und Metallurgische Ges. Akt.-Ges.), May 27, 1927. Sleeve couplings.- Means for attaching a hollow electric conductor to a supporting mast comprises a conical slit sleeve which is pressed by wedge action against the conductor and is housed in a member attached to the mast by tensioning chains, this member having also a branch piece for attachment of a jumper connection to the conductor for the next span. The conductor 3 is wedged by the slit sleeve 1<a>, conical bolt 23 and nut 24 into a casing member 4a to which is screwed the piece 26 having an eye 30 for attachment of the tensioning chains. 25 is a lock nut. Into the branch 4b of the casing 4a is placed the jumper 3<a> with a filler block 27 and the slit conical sleeve 1, the whole being tightened up by an internal nut 5. A cap 28 is screwed on to cover the end. A modification describes a construction for double catenary suspension in which the clamping device may be adjusted revolubly with respect to the outer casing.
