295,622. Crippen, H. O. May 14, 1927. Screw and nail sockets; locking bolts, studs, and set-screws.- A socket for rail spikes, screws &c, comprises a body portion 10 which partially encircle the spike, spikes 14 having curved edges 16 to spread them as they enter the work and a projecting member 20 which. is bent over the head of the spike to retain it in position. The body is notched at 22 so that the junction of the member 20 is below the top of the body portion. The socket may encircle the spike on three sides only so that the spike may be more easily withdrawn.
