Abstract

Refrigerating, absorption machines for.-The heating- means for the generatorabsorber 1 of a reversing system is arranged to prevent accumulation of gas bubbles on the hot surfaces and the resultant local overheating and dissociation of the gas. To this end the heating elements, for example electric heating cartridges, are located in elongated chambers 11, 12 closely surrounded by sleeves 15, 16 having apertures 17 at their lower ends and open at the top. The liquor rises in the annular space in each sleeve and carries away gas bubbles. The gas is delivered through a pipe 10 to the condenser and returns during the absorption period, when the liquor is cooled by a coil 7, through a pipe 3 having end apertures 6 and surrounded by a tube 2 provided with apertures 4 at its lower end and perforations 5 in its upper part. A single heating chamber may be arranged inside the pipe 2, or several chambers may be employed, the sleeves of which extend and merge into the pipe 2 around the return gas pipe 3.
