Trawling-gear; line and net floats.-A lifting- device for head-ropes of trawl nets or for towing warps or fishing-lines comprises a hollow openended cone, hemisphere or similar shaped member 3 near the smaller opening of which a float 4 or floats are mounted so that as the device is towed with the larger end forward, the stream of water passing through the hollow body impinges upon the float. Fig. 2 shows a large lifting device secured by three cables 6 to the centre part of the head-rope 2 of a trawl net and smaller devices secured by a single cable to the side parts of the same rope.
