Abstract

294,693. Hoy, A. Y. April 29, 1927. Portable endless belt or chain conveyers; driving- gear; discharging-devices. -A loading-machine, which may be similar to that described in Specification 277,857, operating along one side of a row of props 24 overlaps and delivers on to a tail conveyer 17, 18, 19, and transverse conveyer 21 delivering to the tubs 26 or to a face conveyer. By this arrangement the loader can work along the distance between several props before it is necessary to move the tail conveyer. The transverse conveyer section 21 may be mounted on a jib 22 pivoted on a vertical axis to swing clear of the props whilst the conveyer is being advanced. The delivery end 19 of the tail conveyer is mounted on a wheeled truck 20 which is connected with the forward end 17 by a plate 50. The tail conveyer 17 - - 20 is moved forward by hauling or towing from the loader. The tail conveyer and the transverse conveyer 21 are driven from a motor on the truck 20. The shoot 16 of the loader may be dispensed with. The transverse conveyer 21 is inclined so that there may be sufficient head-room above the receiving end. -
