Abstract

294,399. Davson & Co., Ltd., H. K., and Scudamore, H. D. Sept. 23, 1927. Portable endless-belt conveyers; idler rollers; tensioning; feet.-An endless belt conveyer for transporting crops such as sugar cane is supported by a number of self-contained units 1, 2, 3 each of which is provided with means 33, such as wheels or endless tracks, for moving it. The tensioning unit 2 is provided with flanges 20, Fig. 3, on the upper members of its framework which are engaged by guides 23 provided on the bearings 21 of the drum 22. Each bearing 21 carries an internally threaded tubular member 25 which is engaged by a threaded rod 24 actuated by a crank 26. The unit 2 is anchored by connecting it by ropes, chains, &c. 8 to a transverse member 7 secured to the ground by spikes 6. The drum 22 comprises a canvas shell which is supported by battens 29 fixed to the edges of a. series of discs 27.
