Abstract

293,419. Naamlooze Vennootschap Vereenigde Nederlandsche Rubberfabrieken, (Assignees of Wilhelmi, D. F.). July 6, 1927, [Convention date]. Moulding pulp.-Fibres recovered from old rubber tyres and the like may be used to form articles by a centrifugal moulding process. ln preparing the fibres the rubber is substantially stripped from the material by means of a toothed roller in the presence of water. The disintegrated fibres are allowed to settle in the water so as to intertangle and form a loose felt. The fibres may be treated in known manner with a current of air or gas while in the mould and may be impregnated with glue &c. or with a binder such as latex or a rubber solution.
