Abstract

Clockwork - a c t u a te d valves.-Relates to timing devices in which a weight is released by the movement of an alarm spindle, the clock being mounted on a turntable so that when not controlling timing operation it may be turned to allow its face to be read conveniently. As shown in Fig. 2 a weight 8 for operating a valve or electric switch is hung by a card on the projecting end of a pin 7 held horizontally in a fixed spring clip 6. The pin 7 terminates in an eye connected by a card to the alarum arbor or finger-piece therefor so that on release the card is wound round the arbor and the pin drawn through the clip, so stripping off the weight which falls and performs the desired operation. The clock 3 is mounted on a turntable 2 supported by a wall bracket so that it may be turned from its normally operative position to bring the dial into a convenient, position.
