Wringing-machines, pressure and rollerseparating arrangements for. - The ends of the shaft 9 of the upper roller are carried in arms 3 which are pivoted at 7 to the frame 10. The arms are provided with bearings for cams 2 connected to a common operating lever 1 which, in the position shown, causes the cams to engage under the notched ends 4 of members 5 and to raise these members against springs 6, thereby coupling these members to the arms 3 to apply the pressure of the springs to the upper roller. The cams are shaped as shown so that on rotation of the lever 1 in either direction they are disengaged from the members 5, thereby providing a quick release of the upper roller from the pressure of the springs. The lever 1 is retained by a spring, not shown.
