Abstract
292,611. Soc. Anon. des Manufactures des Glaces et Produits Chimiques de St.-Gobain, Chauny, et Cirey. June 23, 1927, [Convention date]. Abrading-compositions.-Abrasive materials are manufactured by heating to a temperature of about 1300-1350‹ C., without effecting fusion, a mixture of ground bauxite and a proportion, not exceeding 2 per cent, of fluorides or fluosilicates, preferably of alkalis or alkaline earths, which in breaking up liberate gases having a mineralizing action on the alumina in the bauxite. An example is given.
