Abstract

292,297. Williams, M.L. April 8, 1927. Saws.-Circular saws are sharpened by shearing a strip of metal from one of the faces of each saw teeth. A saw 6 is clamped by nuts 8 to a table 7 carried by a gimbal 10 on a member 11 integral with a ratchet wheel 14. The whole is rotated about a stationary pivot 17, on an adjustable, slide 18, by a pawl, driven by linkage 23 and engaging the wheel 14. The sawteeth are sheared on one race by a reciprocating tool 2 co-operating with a fixed die. The gimbal may be replaced by a spring-supported table.
