791,918. Making tinmen's snips. ELLIN (FOOTPRINT WORKS), Ltd., T. R. Nov. 11, 1955 [March 12, 1955], No. 7295/55. Class 83 (2). A pair of tinmen's snips has its cutting edges 15 formed by a fusion-deposit of hard weldmaterial applied to the blades 14. The blades and handles 14, 13 are drop forged from carbon tool steel with recesses 17, Fig. 5 (not shown) for receiving the deposit which may be of 18 per cent tungsten steel, or tungsten carbide or a cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloy. The deposit is subsequently ground. to provide the cutting edges 15 Fig. 7 (not shown).
