Abstract
292,117. Revel, L. A. J. June 14, 1927, [Convention date]. Filter-presses. -A press plate M, Fig. 7, is formed with parallel channels which communicate with a mortice 4 at the bottom. Filtering material is clamped between this plate and the adjacent plate N, Fig. 8, in which the channels are at right angles to those of the plate M and communicate with a mortice 4<1> at the side. The plate M has a mortice 5 corresponding to the mortice 4<1> and the plate N a mortice 5<1> corresponding to the mortice 4. Liquid supplied through the passage formed by mortices 4, 5<1>, is distributed over the filtering material and the filtrate collected in the channels of the plate N is discharged through the passage formed by the mortices 4<1>, 5. Figs. 3, 4 and 5 show in crosssection three different constructions of a plate. In a modified form of plate the frames are separate portions, the channels are formed by upstanding walls on a thin base plate, and there is a perforated cover over the channel.
