Abstract

291,530. Schubert, H. March 4, 1927. Screens, forms and construction of; reciprocating and rotary sieves.-In sieves of the kind formed of bars or wires of angular cross-section for draining, filtering or wet and dry sorting, the upper surfaces of the bars are unsymmetrical and arranged so as to advance the material in the jigging or rotary movements of the sieve, which may be of the mesh or parallel bar type. As shown in Fig. 3, the bars d may be of triangular cross-section, or, as shown in Figs. 4, 5, the upper surface of the bars may be cut away so as to provide side faces e, f. When used for draining purposes, the bars may have a deep depending rib a, Fig. 6, which joins the sloping upper face at a sharp angle. In a modification, the construction of Fig. 6, is provided with two symmetrically disposed upper faces d as shown in Fig. 9.
