Contacting-solid resistances. - In dry surface contact rectifiers of the metal-metal oxide type, variation in contact pressure due to unequal expansion between the disc elements l and the support on which they are clamped on increase of temperature is avoided by making the support a of a material having the same expansion coefficient as the material of the discs. A comparatively long spring f is introduced as a further safeguard against variation in clamping pressure. Nickel alloys, German silver, and bronze are mentioned as suitable materials for a support for a rectifier in which the electrodes are of copper and copperoxide.
