Abstract
290,817. Astley, A. May 6, 1927. Fittings, internal. - In a box, crate, &c. for carrying thermionic valves &c., the article is suspended therein by one or more flexible tapes &c. which hold the article, or a container therefor, and pass through a number of stretchable rubber rings which allow the tapes and article to have resilient movements within the box. As shown a valve 15 is held by a pair of tapes 14 having portions secured to the sides of the box by boards 12 so that upper and lower runs 10, 13 are provided which pass through the rubber rings 11 and over and under the valve. The upper and lower runs 10, 13 of tape may be separate and the upper runs 13 are provided with buckles or other fastening means. In a modification the valve &c. is enclosed in a swab of flexible material bunched together at the ends which are secured by tapes; a rubber ring is attached to each box end by a screw eye, and the ends of each tape pass through a ring and through other screw eyes secured to the box ends and are then secured together.
