Abstract
289,150. Whitehead, C., and Crabtree, A. Jan. 21, 1927. Pneumatic dispatch apparatus. - A hinged valve particularly applicable for use on pneumatic suction pipes, comprises a flat valve connected by a link to the suction pipe and adapted to seat against the end of the pipe. In the form shown in the Figure the valve consists of a rectangular plate a of felt or asbestos partly enclosed by a thin metal casing b and.washer c. The connecting link d of stout wire engages at one end with lugs e arranged on the valve member away from the axis and at the other with a lug f having an elongated slot. The lug # may have a plain hole and the end of the pipe may be square instead of inclined as shown.
