Abstract

289,132. Eyre, W. S., and Whitaker, D. Jan. 18, 1927. Continuous-discharge apparatus with moving containers.-A mixing-machine for concrete comprises one or more cylinders rotated at a high speed so as to effect the lifting of the aggregate from the lower to the upper surface, whence it falls upon inclined blades or paddles fixed to a bar extending the length of the cylinder. As applied to a machine of the kind described in Specification 244,012, the machine comprises a cylinder 5 to which cement and water are fed, any lumps being broken up by a roller f carried on a fixed bracket g. The mixture, together with sand, is fed down a shoot i to a second cylinder 6 in which inclined blades m, mounted on a fixed bar k, are arranged. The mixed sand and cement a.re fed, together with rubble, bv a shoot o to a third cylinder 7 similarly provided with blades. The forward faces m<1> of the blades are flat, and the inclination of the blades may be adjustable.
