Abstract

289,131. Beattie, T. Jan. 18, 1927. Inlaid slabs.-Cement slabs for mural decoration are ornamented by moulding or cutting the pattern in bas-relief and filling the recesses with cement of different colours. A backing of coarse concrete may be provided, and the slab may be strengthened by expanded metal 16 or the like. The slabs may be secured to a wooden base, by a screw 18 passed through a metal plate 17 placed in a gap in the slab, after which the top layer is completed. For brick or rubber walls, wire staples are secured to the reinforcement and project at the underside for attachment to nails. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 16597/88, [Class 3, Advertising &c.], 12836/11, 190,918, and 205,728.
