288,969. Harder, A. April 1C, 1927, [Convention date]. Teeth, artificial.-A dental impression tray for taking casts of the upper jaw comprises a main tray and a lower tray movably connected to and enclosing the main tray, and adapted to receive excess material escaping from the upper tray. In the form shown an upper tray a is detachably secured by screws k to a plate i hinged at f to a lower tray b. A strip g of gutta-percha or the like may be applied to the rear edge of the lower tray b at the time of use so as to produce a good seal with the roof of the mouth. A gutter d and receptacle e, forming part of the lower tray, receive any large excess of the impression material escaping from the upper tray a. The lower tray is fitted with renewable inspection windows h of cellon or like material. In a modification, the plate is dispensed with and the two trays are directly hinged together. Reference is made to a known construction comprising two trays not pivotally connected.
