Abstract

333,897. Zitka, W. Dec. 10, 1928, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Teeth, artificial.-An appliance of taking the bite in dentistry comprises two spoons 1 pivotally mounted at the free ends of arms 3, 4 attached to a handle 7. The arms 3, 4 are connected by an adjustable pivot joint 8 so that they may be set at the required distance apart. The spoons 1 are provided with upper and lower marginal flanges 5, 6 to retain gypsum paste. In edentulous cases a piece of wax 10, Fig. 3, may be placed in one spoon to maintain the jaws at the desired distance apart. The appliance permits observation of the jaws during the process of bite-taking.
