Abstract

176,705. Dental Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Sully, G. H. April 27, 1921. Teeth, artificial.-An attachment for use in setting up teeth in the occlusal plane when in position on the articulator comprises a plate 4 with its upper surface in the occlusal plane, marked with median and transverse lines 7, 8 and provided with points 5, 6 and a slot 9 allowing adjustment on the median line relative to an upright 1 by which the plate is connected to the articulator. Two jointed side arms 11 with under surfaces in the occlusal plane swing on a point in the median line, and, together with the plate 4, are held in adjusted position by a nut 10. In use, the cutting-edge of the incisal teeth is marked on the bite-block and the points 5, 6 are pressed in not deeper than to the line 8. The blocks are removed from the patient's mouth and placed on a model of the mouth, and the points of the arms 11 are pushed into the block in the region of the molars. The whole is then transferred to the lower arm of an articulator. The central point 5, the transverse line 8, and the arms 11 fix the median line, the line of the front incisal edges and the position of the second molars.
