Abstract

288,229. Landis Machine Co.. (Assignees of Moon, J. C.). April 8, 1927, [Convention date]. Air, washing.-A dust - collector, intended particularly for for shoefinishing ma- .chinery, comprises a box having a discharge member 19 detachably connected at an inlet in one of the walls and discharging the dust downwards into water and an opening, with a closure, in the roof or a wall. The member 19 is suspended by a link 21 from one of two attachments 22. Two air inlets 18 are provided one of which is plugged by a cap &c. 26. The member 19 is removable through the. lidded top. It is flared at the bottom to disperse the air over water in the sloping, plugged at the bottom of the box. Baffles 14, 15 remove spray from the cleaned air leaving the box. The dust generated by the tools 4, 5 is drawn into a conduit 8 by a fan 7 and passed to the box through a conduit 11. The box is supported from the framing 2, 3.
