Prizing-tools. - A device for moving vehicles comprises a base on rollers, a housing with a curved upper portion rising therefrom, a plunger reciprocating in a curved part of the housing and having a sleeve in which a block is mounted for reciprocation, resilient means limiting the downward movement of the block, wheel gripping dogs carried by the block and means for moving the plunger and block for causing the dogs to grip a wheel and rotate it. The base plates 1 are secured to the lower end of the housing 2 and carry flanged rollers 5 which run on the rail. The end faces of the rollers are provided with ratchet teeth 7 coacting with semi-circular sets of pawls 8 mounted on spring bolts 10 carried by semi-circular members 12 bolted to the base plates to hold the device against backward movement. A curved upper portion 14 of the housing 2 carries a correspondingly shaped plunger 15 with a rectangular sleeve part 20' terminating in slotted bifurcations. A spring 23 normally forces the plunger downwards. Inside the sleeve part 20<1> works a block 25 with ears 28 carrying a pin 29 on which are pivoted dogs 30, 31 of right angle shape with the confronting faces 32 formed of V-section and serrated for gripping a vehicle wheel. The block 25 has a stem 26 passing through a hole in the plunger 15 and secured by a nut 27 and normally urged upwardly by a spring 33. The forward end of the operating lever 18 is connected by a link 17 to ears 16 on the plunger, and the housing is provided with a carrying handle 35. The lever is slightly raised to open the dogs for engaging the wheel, its downward movement then resulting in gripping and rotating the wheel.
