Abstract

287,562. Deutsche Gasgl³hlicht Auer- Ges., and Hanseatische Apparatebau Ges. vorm. L. von Bremen & Co. March 25, 1927, [Convention date]. Respirators.-In respirator canisters in which oxygen is generated by the action of carbon dioxide and moisture, the exhaustion of the oxygen yielding material is indicated by the inclusion within the canister and beneath the lowermost partition thereof of a tube d containing a quantity of volatile material f having a strong smell or taste, e.g. menthol. The material f is spring-pressed against a closure g of alloy melting at about 60‹ C. which is stated to be the temperature attained at the lower end of the canister under the conditions to be indicated.
