Abstract

Receiving-sets, construction of. - Relates to apparatus for controlling the energization of a radio-receiving apparatus mounted within a cabinet and comprises an electric switch, having an operating member biased to the open position, and means movable between the cover (or a support thereon) and the operating member to effect the closure thereof. The cover 19 carries a support 18 against which, when the cover is in place, bears and slides a member 17 pivoted to a control knob 14 for operation of a switch 1. The member 17 engages an operating lever 6 which is pivoted at 7 and connected by a link 9 and spring 8 to an extension 10 of an arm 4 which is pivoted at 5 and carries a bridging contact 3 for two fixed contacts 2. By this means a snap action is imparted to the arm 4. The arrangement is such that when the cover 19 is removed the switch is opened by a spring and it cannot be closed by movement of the knob 14, as seen in Fig. 2.
