Abstract
21,751. Leitner, H. Sept. 26. [Addition to 2747/12.] Electro-magnetic switches; electrically-tripped switches.-Switches of the kind described in the parent Specification, adapted for electro-magnetic or manual operation and for electromagnetic or manual tripping, are provided with a modified form of retaining and tripping mechanism, comprising a pair of levers g, g<1> pivoted on an axis g<2> and drawn together by springs k. The armature c<1> attached to the guided contact-carrying rod l, when attracted by the ' on ' electro-magnet a, moves above the lower turned-in ends of the levers g, g<1> and is there retained with the circuit closed. The armature f of the 'off ' electro-magnet d has rollers h in contact with inclined portions of the levers g, g<1>, which are displaced outwards when the armature is attracted, the switch then falling open. A handle o for manual closing is attached to the piece l, and a knob q for manual tripping is attached to a rod p running through the piece l and ending under the armature f.
