Abstract

286,081. Lissen, Ltd., and Richardson, R. P. Feb. 22, 1927. Head-sets.-The receiver of a head telephone set is mounted on the head-band by a universal or hinged joint. As shown, a partly spherical block 8 having a threaded stem is adapted to engage a recess 7 of the receiver casing 6 to facilitate universal movement and to clamp the receiver upon the strip 2 by the head-band when nut 11 is tightened. A slot 10 in the strip 2 facilitates vertical adjustment and a squared portion 9 of the stem cooperates with the slot 10 to prevent rotation of the block 8. A spring 13 holds the block 8 in its seating when the nut 11 is loosened. A projection 12 on the block 8 co-operates with a groove in the casing 6 to prevent relative rotation. Wires 1 of the head-band are clamped between the strip 2 and a washer 3 and fabric strips 4 are adapted to slide friction tight upon the wires. A ball or spherical washer may be used instead of the block 8 or if adjustment in one plane only is required semi-cylin-. drical members may be used. The spring 13 may be replaced by a spring interposed between the nut 11 and strip 2.
