Crystal detectors. -In detectors of the enclosed type, and in which the ball member is permanently secured to the end cap or bracket, the securing means is provided by a spring. In the detector shown in Figs. 1. 5 and 6, both end caps are formed in one piece with the supporting brackets. The ball member 9 is held against a seating 11 in the end cap by a three-armed spring 12 secured to the end cap hy lugs 14 at the ends of the arms. A twoarmed spring may be used. In a modification, Fig. 7, the ball is held by a helical spring arranged between a bearing slate 16 and a rigid bridge member 15 secured to the end cap.
