Abstract

285,737. Winkler, G. Aug. 8, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Artificial limbs.-A knee-joint for artificial legs comprises two pressure rods h carried on the thigh part a and two pull rods m hanging from the axle b which is carried in a roller bearing. The setting of the bearing is done by screws f<1> acting upon the cover i of the bearing. The rods h, m are hinged to links g and are constrained to move along arcuate slots l in the central piece c connecting the thigh to the lower leg. The axle b is prevented from rotating by means of a screw connecting it 'with the thigh portion so that on bending the leg the central piece is able to stretch a short distance depending upon the position of the linkwork.
