Abstract

285,341. Webb, J. W. April 19, 1927. Guards. - A guard 11 for a carborundum or like wheel 22 turns on pivots 12 in the framing 13 and is adjusted by a screwed rod 15 engaged by a nut 16 supported on a cross strut in the framing and rotated by a, hand-wheel 20. A nut 23 on the rod 15 supports the end 24 of one side of the dust exhaust conduit 25, which end turns on a pivot 26 and thus moves with the guard. The extreme end 27 of the side of the conduit may be turned about a pivot on the end 24 to prevent obstruction of the work. The wheel is also protected by a box-like, guard such as is described in Specification 286,494.
