Abstract

285,293. Trotter, G. H. May 24, 1927. Cells.-An opaque cell for a storage battery is provided with a transparent window 3 to enable the level of the acid to be seen. The window is wedge-shaped and slides in grooves at the upper end of one of the cell walls. The upper edge of the window projects slightly above the cell and is engaged by a groove in the cell cover. The latter may be provided with a rib 8 engaging in a groove 9 in the cell. All the grooves may be filled with pitch &c. to form acid-tight joints.
