Abstract

285,091. Hermann, S., and Pharmaceutische Werke Norgine Akt.-Ges. Feb. 12, 1927, [Convention date], Fatty acids.-A plastic mass for use in the manufacture of pills consists of a mixture of stearic acid with other solid fatty acids of lower melting point. The mixtures are of low melting point and' are resistant to dilute acids at body temperature, but readily dissolve in a slightly alkaline medium. Acids which may be employed for admixture with the stearic acid are palmitic, lauric, myristic, and elaidic acids or mixtures thereof.
