Abstract

284,320. Burstyn, W. Jan. 28, 1927, [Convention date]. Thermal meters. - A voltmeter for testing whether a voltage is above or below a predetermined value consists of a casing g containing a small incandescent lamp l and a series of resistance w of such a value that the lamp l begins to glow at the predetermined voltage.A fixed terminal s is provided on the casing g a movable terminal contact being carried by a flexible lead k. For testing the voltage of accumulator a loading resistance r may be connected in parallel with the voltmeter. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the following subjectmatter :-A press-button switch may be provided for short-circuiting part of the series resistance w so that the voltage in the charged and discharged condition may be indicated. The series resistance may be adjustable and calibrated to indicate the value of the voltage or current at which the lamp begins to glow. The lamp may be replaced by an incandescent wire. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
