Abstract

283,661. Sebrell, L. B. Oct. 26, 1926. 1-Mercaptobenzothiazole, which is used as an accelerator in the vulcanization of rubber, is prepared by heating under pressure a mixture of ammonia, as a gas or dissolved in water, carbon bisulphide, aniline and sulphur.
