Abstract

283,498. Kegel, J. Jan. 11, 1927, [Convention date]. Endless-chain-machines ; moulding confectionery. - Confections having centres covered with chocolate are formed by depositing the centres upon a tray and applying a coating of chocolate, passing the trays with the coated centres beneath a mould magazine and depositing a mould upon each tray, pressing the moulds on to the centres, inverting and separating the moulds with the confections from the trays and finally passing the filled moulds beneath scrapers. As shown, trays 1 carrying spring-supported frames for the centres are carried by endless chains 3 under a, coating- hopper 6 co-operating with a bottom coating roller 8, then under a blower, next under a magazine 10 where projections 11 on the trays detach the lowermost mould, and finally under a spring presser 13 which forces the moulds on to the coated centres. At the return ends of the chains 3 the moulds are retained by spring members 14 after passing which the moulds are deposited by spring-levers 15 upon a conveyer band 16 furnished with projections 18 adapted to pass the moulds on to a table 19 and beneath scrapers 20.
