Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles.- A device for delivering equal separated quantities of pasty material particularly soap, consists of a container m, Fig. 1, with a piston c moved by a screw spindle k so as to express the material past a cam-operated valve g in the outlet t. The valve g is fitted on the square-section end of the spindle b, and in a spindle-bearing s, in the lower end of which is fixed a ring h, Fig. 4, with cam-surfaces n, coacting with similar cam-surfaces i on a ring surrounding or forming part of the valve g. As the spindle b is rotated by the handle a, the soap is forced through the flange u of the bearing s, and the valve g, rotating with the spindle, is lifted by the cam surfaces n, i until they reach the position shown in Fig. 4, when the spring k forces the valve g down quickly, expelling a portion of soap through the nozzle o. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, the spindle b has two identical ends. When the piston c has reached the bottom of the container m, the outlet t, with the valve g and bearing s, and the cap r, with the handle a and an indicator l, are interchanged, the container m is refilled, and is then inverted on its pivot x.
