Abstract

282,481. British Dyestuffs Corporation, Rogers, W. D., Evans, H., and Ermen, W. F. A. Sept. 13, 1926. Brominated pyranthrones are produced by brominating pyranthrone in chlorsulphonic acid solution or suspension in presence of iodine. In an example bromination is effected at 80-85‹ C., the mixture poured on to ice, and the dyestuff boiled with weak alkali. Specification 12568/09 is referred to.
