Flower-pot machines; perforating-machines; moulding hollow-ware.-Concrete flower-pots are formed by rotating a filled mould about a vertical axis and removing the material from the interior by a. stationary vertical cutting tool. As shown, a mould 1, charged with material, is secured to the spindle 5 of a vertical drilling-machine, and is lowered to engage a cutting-tool 8 carried by a table 7. The tool 8 is a flat steel knife with appropriate blades and is surrounded by a ring 10, Fig. 3, through which material passes into a funnel 11 and falls into a receptacle 12. A ring 2, Fig. 6, secured by a bayonet joint 3, supports the material. After the cutting operation, the mould is raised and the table 7 turned to bring into operation a smoothing tool 9, Fig. 2. The concrete may be coloured and may comprise layers of different colours. Specification 174.102 is referred to.
