281,820. Belhaven, Ltd., and Mellor, R.. Oct. 15, 1926. Stationary mixers with rotary stirrers.-In a power driven whisk of the kind comprising a container provided with trunnions about which it may be tilted, and with a detachable beater, a driving shaft penetrates one trunnion and engages the beater spindle, the shaft having a bearing which engages the trunnion, while the other trunnion is penetrated by a sleeve riding in a second bearing and surrounding a member forming a dead centre for the beater spindle. The driving shaft 4 is supported in spaced bearings 10, 11, the latter of which engages in spigot-andsocket relationship with the trunnion 2 through which the shaft 4 passes to engage the removable beater spindle 5. The shaft 4 carries a wheel 15 carrying an indication mark to facilitate engagement of the shaft with the spindle 5. The other end of the beater spindle engages a dead centre formed on a screwed member 7 in a sleeve 16 passing through the other trunnion 3 and supported in a bearing 17. The end of the sleeve 16 is screwed for engagement with a hand-wheel 19 by means of which the container may be held for mixing, or released for discharging.
