Abstract

280,721. Myddelton, R. F. Dec. 1, 1926. Reciprocating sieves. - In apparatus for extracting stalks from tea as described in Specification 181,941, a preliminary separation of the larger particles of tea from the stalks and small particles is provided by one or more screens formed of parallel wires of circular, triangular or other section, or of plates with elongated apertures and low ridges between the rows of apertures. The wires or apertures are parallel to the direction of reciprocation of the screens, which may be arranged in tiers and may be provided with means for independent adjustment of their inclination. Brushes may be provided to act on the underside 'of the screens. Specification 196,490 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
