Blocks for furnace walls.-Vertical and horizontal passages 61, 62, shown in Figs. 1 and 2 respectively, are formed between the blocks 9, 7 of inner and outer walls of a furnace by means of double dovetailed blocks 10<a>, 10<b>, the middle portions of which are enlarged to engage with the blocks 9, 7. The blocks of the outer wall, Fig. 1, engage with flanges of horixontal beams 1 having notches 1<a> at their ends to slide upon a flange 1<b> of the post 1<c> during expansion and contraction. The blocks of the outer wall shown in Fig. 2 slide upon the flanges of the beams 2.
