Diaphragms; loud-speakers.- A sound-reproducing diaphragm, preferably conical, is damped by a wrapper or ring of cloth which extends loosely preferably over at least one-half of the surface of the diaphragm. The conical diaphragm 6, Fig. 6, connected by a flexible member 8 to a frame 9, has a sheet of loose woven fabric 11 wrapped round it, the sheet being attached to the cone at its outer periphery 12, In the modified arrangement. Fig. 8, the member 8 is dispensed with, the fabric sheet 14 being secured throughout an annular portion 15 of the peripheral edge 7 of the cone and extending outwardy through a flexible portion 10 to the frame 9. Fig. 1 shows a construction of loud-speaker in which the frame 9 is mounted on a vertical member 10 connected with a base 1. The base 1 carries a standard 2 on which is mounted an electromagnetic driver 3, the armature 4 of which is connected by a link 5 with the apex of the diaphragm 6.
