Cut-out arrangements.-In the automaticallyreclosing circuit breaker system of the parent Specification in which the reclosure is held up after a given number of times by an electromagnetic relay with a mechanical line-lag, this relay is replaced by a thermal relay which has an inherent time-lag. As shown, when the circuitbreaker b trips it closes back contacts k which complete the energizing of the mechanical short time-limit relay f from the auxiliary transformer h and at the same time supply current from the same source to the thermal element p of the thermal long time limit relay. The closure of the relay f completes the circuit from the sourceh of the reclosing magnet m which recloses thecircuit-breaker after the short interval imposed by the relay f. This reclosing action continues. Owing to the thermal inertia of the heated element, after being heated up cumulatively a given number of times corresponding to the allowed number of reclosures, the thermal relay p opens and is retained in the open position by the catches o. The thermal relay remains open until reclosed by hand. The time-setting of the thermal relay may be adjusted by means of the resistance r.
