Razors of the kind having a flexed wafer blade clamped between a guard 1 and cover plate 8 have the regions near the edges of the blade clamped between flat surfaces 2, 9 the central portions of the guard and cover being recessed or formed so that the central arched region 7 of the blade is not clamped. The outer surface of the cover-plate may be curved as shown, or formed with flats. The guard may be in the form of a bar 6 parallel with the blade edge, or of teeth.
