276,730. Spence, J., Courtenay, C. E., and Courtenay, H. A. May 31, 1926. Metal-heating furnaces.-In the treatment of bronze, gunmetal, &c. borings for the recovery of white metal, a charge of material is spread on a tray having a wire gauze bottom, and is heated while at rest to a temperature above the melting- point of the white metal, after which the tray is vibrated or oscillated. The furnace shown has side fire-places communicating with the heating- chamber A through ports B, and rails D for supporting the tray G, which is reciprocated by rocker arms F.
