Abstract

276,145. Flower, A. I. Aug. 19, 1926. Racket presses.-A press for tennis rackets and the like consists of a pair of clamping members each comprising a number of radial arms, one of the clamping members being provided with an internally screw-threaded sleeve which is adapted to pass through the stringing of the racket and into a bolt hole in the other clamping member and receive the clamping bolt, one or both of the ends of the bolt hole being countersunk. One of the radial-armed clamping members b is provided with an internally-threaded sleeve g secured by a nut g<3> and extending through the mesh e of the racket. The other clamping member a is provided with a bolt hole having the ends formed with conical faces h<1>, h<2> to guide the sleeve g and the bolt f into engaging position. The sleeve g may screw into the clamping member b, and is slightly enlarged in bore at the entrance g<4>.
