Abstract

Strainers fitted at end of pipes.-A rose box for ship and other pumps comprises a base plate 1 with fixed perforated sides 2, 3, the ends being formed by plates 4, 5 hinged to the base and the top by plates 6, 7, hinged to the ends and secured in position by an L-shaped clip 11, so that the whole can be unfastened and opened out for cleaning by a single movement. All the hinges may be formed by rings 13 threaded through holes in the plates. The box may be cylindrical.
